Employee Spotlight: Katarina Fitzgibbon

This month, we’re excited to spotlight our HR Advisor, Katarina Fitzgibbon.

In the fast-paced world of HR, Katarina is the steady hand behind the scenes! She helps ensure our colleagues feel supported, heard, and empowered. From navigating recruitment processes to championing our company culture, she plays a vital role in making Solvd. a great place to work.

When did you join Solvd.?

I joined the business back in 2019!

What are some of your day-to-day tasks?

As an HR Advisor, I support the full employee life cycle. This ranges from recruitment, onboarding, and inductions to providing advice and support to colleagues. I also help ensure HR processes run smoothly and consistently across the business all through to offboarding. No two days are the same. which keeps the role both dynamic and rewarding.

What do you love most about your job at Solvd.?

The people, without a doubt. Solvd. has a great culture - everyone is incredibly helpful, supportive, and genuinely approachable, which makes it a great environment to work in!

One skill you’ve learned or improved here?

I’ve grown in confidence when navigating more complex conversations and meetings, always aiming to approach them with a supportive and solutions-focused mindset.

Biggest achievement so far?

Completing a Level 7 CIPD qualification with the support of Solvd. while continuing to build my HR career, alongside moving to Scotland independently at the age of 21. Both have been significant personal and professional milestones for me.

Current favourite song / podcast / book?

All Tame Impala songs, a big fan - and very excited to be seeing them live in April in Poland!

One thing people might not know about you?

Here are two things! I have a twin brother. I am also half Polish, so speak both Polish and English - and sometimes wish I could mix the two when talking!
